Rural Carrier Associates (RCAs) must be available to work on an as-needed basis.
Applicants must have a valid state driverβs license, a safe driving record, and at least two years of unsupervised experience driving passenger cars or larger vehicles. The driving experience must have taken place in the U.S. or its territories or U.S. military installations worldwide.
A personal vehicle suitable for use is required for this position.

The Inspection Service conducts a criminal background check using U.S. information resources (e.g., FBI fingerprint check, state, and county checks). The background check includes a five-year inquiry for any U.S. locations where the individual has resided, worked, or gone to school. Individuals who have not resided in the U.S. for the last five years may not have complete background checks, making them ineligible for postal employment.
Rural Carrier Associates are responsible for casing, delivering, and collecting mail along a prescribed rural route using a vehicle. RCAs provide a variety of services to customers along their route.
Reports to the Manager, Customer Services; Supervisor, Customer Services; or Postmaster.
Must maintain a professional appearance and demeanor when interacting with the public.
Must have a valid driverβs license and a clean driving record.
Must pass a pre-employment drug screening.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
